Concrete Driveway Installation in Friendswood

A new driveway in Friendswood lives or dies on what’s underneath it. Our soil moves clay swells when it rains and shrinks in a dry August and a slab poured straight onto disturbed dirt will crack no matter how good the concrete is.

So we start below grade. We excavate to the depth the job calls for, compact the subgrade, and build a base that drains instead of holding water against the slab. Then we form, set steel, pour, finish and cut control joints where the slab is going to want to move anyway.

What you get:

  • Full tear-out and haul-away of the old drive
  • Compacted base built for Gulf Coast clay
  • Reinforced slab, thickness matched to what you’ll park on it
  • Control joints cut on the right spacing so cracking happens in the joints, not across the middle
  • Broom, smooth or exposed finish
  • Site left clean

Driveway Replacement

Replacement is the right call when the slab itself has failed rather than the surface. We remove the existing concrete, correct whatever caused the failure bad base, no drainage, tree roots, undersized slab and pour new. Replacing concrete without fixing the cause is how homeowners end up doing this twice. We schedule tear-out and pour so your driveway is out of service for the shortest stretch possible, and we’ll tell you up front which days you won’t be able to park on it.

Driveway Repair and Crack Repair

Not every cracked driveway needs to come out. We repair what can be repaired:

  • Sealing cracks that are tight and stable, before water gets under the slab and makes it worse
  • Section replacement cutting out and repouring one failed panel instead of the whole drive
  • Slab lifting where a section has settled but the concrete is otherwise sound
  • Resurfacing for slabs that are flaking or pitted on top but solid underneath
  • Edge and corner rebuild where the apron or approach has broken away

We’ll tell you which of these your driveway actually needs. If repair is throwing money at a slab that’s finished, we’ll say that too.

Repair or Replace? How We Decide

This is the question almost every Friendswood homeowner is really asking, so here’s exactly how we call it when we’re standing on your driveway:

Repair it when:

  • Cracks are narrow and both sides are still level with each other
  • Damage is confined to one or two panels
  • The surface is rough or flaking but the slab doesn’t move when you walk it
  • The slab is under about 20 years old and was built on a proper base

Replace it when:

  • One side of a crack sits higher than the other that’s the base failing, not the concrete
  • Sections rock or shift underfoot
  • Cracks run the length of the drive or spider across multiple panels
  • The slab is sinking where it meets the garage or the street
  • It’s too thin for what you park on it, which no repair will fix
  • It’s been patched several times already

Fix the drainage either way. Most driveway failures we see in Friendswood aren’t concrete problems they’re water problems. If the yard slopes toward the slab or gutters dump beside it, a brand new driveway will fail the same way the old one did. We look at this on every estimate and tell you what needs to change.

Concrete Patios

Patios in Friendswood take direct sun, heavy rain and standing humidity, so we build them to shed water away from the house and to stay comfortable underfoot. Broom finish for grip, smooth finish for a cleaner look, exposed aggregate or stamped where you want texture and pattern.

We’ll form to the shape you want rather than a default rectangle, tie the slab into existing steps or slab-on-grade where it makes sense, and set the fall so rain runs to the yard instead of pooling against your foundation. Also poured: walkways, pool decks, fire pit pads, grill and outdoor kitchen slabs.

Concrete Slabs and Foundations

Slab work for room additions, garages, workshops, sheds, carports, RV pads and equipment bases. These carry load, so base prep and steel matter more here than anywhere else on your property. We handle layout, forming, vapour barrier where it’s called for, reinforcement, pour and finish, and we coordinate around your builder’s schedule if there’s framing waiting on us.

Concrete Removal and Demolition

Breaking out and hauling off old concrete driveways, patios, walkways, slabs, foundations, steps. We can do it as the first stage of a new pour, or on its own if you’re opening up the space for landscaping, a pool, or an addition. We break it out cleanly, protect what’s staying, load it out, and sweep the site. You’re not left with a pile of rubble in the yard.

Masonry and Concrete Surface Repair

Repair work on steps, curbs, retaining walls, aprons, brick and block: rebuilding broken edges, repointing, resetting loose units, patching spalled faces, and tying new work into old so the repair doesn’t read as a patch.

Mike did a fabulous job. I had cracks in the bricks on both corners in the front of my house and he fixed them perfectly. You cannot tell anything was done. Colors match up and look great. He's even coming back by to check everything. I will definitely call again. He showed up when he said he would be here and charged a fair price.

Mike and his crew poured a driveway for us on Todville road in Seabrook. Mike is very friendly and easy to work with. The driveway was completed exactly as discussed and faster than originally thought. Mike went out of his way to get permit inspections done by both the city and county. Him and his crew do excellent work. The drive way was actually the second time we have used him. Mike did some concrete steps leading up to our house previously. Just like the driveway, completed to a 5 star standard. I highly recommend Mouton Concret Services

We called Mike to for a masonry inspection while trying to a purchase home. We were provided same-day, friendly service. Mike was upfront about the issue and didn't push for making repairs that weren't necessary. While we hope we don't need to use the company for repairs, they will be the first ones we contact!

I’m a repeat customer. They did my driveway several years ago & it’s still looking as good as the day they poured it. They did an excellent job with doing our RV driveway & went above & beyond helping us deal with getting our permits. Anyone needing concrete, construction, demolition work..I highly recommend them.

Yes. We come to the property, look at the slab and the drainage, measure, and leave you with a written estimate. No charge and no obligation.

It depends on size and whether there's tear-out, but we give you the exact days in your estimate, including when you can walk on it and when you can park on it. You'll know before we start.

Often, yes. If the rest of the slab is sound, we cut out the failed panel and repour it. We'll tell you honestly whether that will hold or whether it's only buying a year or two.

Yes. Tear-out, loading and disposal are part of the job. Nothing is left on your property.

We identify it on the estimate and address what we can as part of the work regrading, adjusting fall, relocating where water lands. If it needs a plumber or landscaper, we'll tell you that instead of pouring over the problem.

We'll tell you at the estimate whether your job needs one in Friendswood and handle it where it's required.

Yes, and we'll provide proof of insurance before work starts.
